Bike rolling hills, kayak the Potomac, canoe a millpond, watch for eagles, take a river cruise or just relax. Near rivers, winery, Stratford Hall, Washington's birthplace, golf, antiques. Sunlit rooms, wraparound porch, full candlelit breakfasts.
'Tween Rivers is the closest B&B to Stratford Hall Plantation, Washington's Birthplace, and Westmoreland State Park. We are only a 15 minute drive to Ingleside Plantation Vineyards and the Westmoreland Berry Farm. Photographers and artists can capture the beauty of our back roads and waterfronts. Outdoorsfolk can hike the trails of the area's nature preserves and parks, golf at nearby courses, bike the rolling hills, or canoe or kayak on our creeks and rivers. Bird watchers can look for eagles and great blue herons, or in the winter gaze at the whistling swas on Popes Creek.
'Tween Rivers is a gentrified 1920's country colonial home set on an acre of trees and gardens in a small American rural village. Make yourself at home in our second floor sitting room with its overstuffed sofa, pre-breakfast coffee, books and games; the first-floor parlor with its fireplace, Oriental rugs and stained glass lamps; the wraparound porch with its oak rockers and wicker furniture; or under the rose arbor.
