Sitting on 3 1/2 acres of tall pines and maples and dotted with perennial gardens, this 1910 Arts & Crafts style house instills a sense of peace and elegance. Public spaces are furnished in authentic Mission pieces while the 4 guestrooms, each with their own private bath ensuite, are decorated in antiques from different periods and styles. From the enclosed porch to the cozy fireplace in the Living Room, guests will feel comfortable and welcomed. Every effort is made to ensure that the most sophisticated traveller's needs are met.
The Rose Room: a romantic white wrought iron Queen bed rests amid a profusion of rose-patterned fabrics floating in a sea of deep green wainscotting. Private bath features a claw foot tub.The Blue Room: a breath of fresh air! Decorated in blue and white, the double bed is draped in a beautiful floral matalasse while crisp white curtains adorn oversized windows. For the 'top-o'the mornin' sort. Charming full bath within the room. The Cottage Room: features a rare eight piece matched set of Cottage Pine furniture from the mid-1800s. Double bed, English prints on the walls, gorgeous full private bath ensuite. The Gold Room: two twin beds in a room filled with Mahogany antiques, jewel tones, and a dramatic private bath ensuite done in royal deep blue and beige.
A lovely enclosed porch offers insect-free enjoyment of our country air day or night for three seasons while an oversized fireplace offers warmth and coziness during the winter months. Guests take tea at 4:30 each day in either location or outdoors amid the gardens and tall trees. Computer access is available, as is cable tv. Meetings of up to 10 people will be comfortable at either the dining room table or in the oversized living room.
A gourmet breakfast is served every morning, a tea with homemade goods is served daily at 4:30 pm and there is a complimentary turn-down service replete with a carafe of spring water and chocolates at bedside each night. Message services can be arranged ahead of time, as can pet lodging at a nearby animal b&b.
There is no smoking permitted within The Honored Guest Bed and Breakfast. Guests may smoke outdoors, though. There are no pets allowed but arrangements with a nearby animal b&b are easily made. Children are welcomed if they are respectful of the other guest's need for peace and quiet at night and in the mornings.

From the Taconic State Parkway, get off at the Hillsdale/Claverack exit and follow signs to Hillsdale. You will be in Route 23 heading east. Go 8 miles to first light, at Route 22, and go left. Go north on Route 22 for 9/10ths of a mile and you will see the sign for The Honored Guest Bed and Breakfast on the left and a road that only goes left, Hunt Road. Make the left and then an immediate right up the driveway.
