Located 45 miles east of Yellowstone National Park, on the Shoshone River. Cody is home to Buffalo Bill Historical Center, housing five (5) separate museums; Cody Firearms, Plains Indian, Buffalo Bill, Natural History and Whitney Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian of the West. Entertainment nightly at The Cody Nitely Rodeo, Old Trail Town and shootout downtown. Many art galleries, fine dining, river rafting, 18 hole PGA golf course, mineral springs, family fun, western dancing and lots of places to just plain relax and enjoy the clean air and blue skies.
Historic home of authoress Caroline Lockhart, built in 1896, restored and refurbished 1998, with seven rooms, all with private baths, tv, telephones and full-country breakfast. Hot and cold beverages await you along with a frig full of goodies, fruit, yogurt, juices and of course, ice-creams! A large wrap-around veranda with sitting area is available for visiting and relaxing. The downstairs parlor houses a wood burning stove, piano, books and games for your enjoyment. Dining area seats 14 at your own private tables.
The 7 rooms are decorated in country antiques. All rooms have queen beds, some rooms accomodate up to five. Private baths with claw-footed tubs and of course candle light and bubble bath await you after a day of play in Cody or Yellowstone. Some rooms have tub/shower combinations. Fluff down comforters warm you at night, and tv and telephones are available for your convenience. Waines coating and wallpaper compliment the antique beds and furnishings.
Close to golf, tennis, ice skating, wind surfing, boating, fishing and just plain paradise. Cassie's Supper Club is located across the street for you dining pleasures, offering scrumptuous prime rib and nightly western dance lessons. River rafting is available below The Lockhart for family fun.
We are a non-smoking property, however, the veranda is available for those who do smoke. Children are welcome, however, we do not accept the four (4) legged children.
I am the original innkeeper, 18 years, so I am the oldest innkeeper in the state. My husband, Don, is happy to discuss fishing, hunting, or building-he is a contractor. We give "love" for a living.
