Only a few steps from Gibela's front gate there is a grocery store, auto-teller and post office. Guests can walk to the Botanical Gardens, Golden Mile Beaches, currency exchange and famous brand surf-gear factory shops. We are on both inner city transport networks, which link you to the museums, cinemas, Indian Market and Juma Mosque, in less than a 10-minute bus ride from the hostel.

From the airport / South Coast / Wild Coast Follow the signs direction Durban and N2 North. Keep left direction Stanger, North Coast, Pietermaritzburg, N2 North +/- 10 km at big intersection follow signs to Durban City As you enter Durban keep in the middle lane. Take the Ridge Road / Tollgate / Berea off ramp. (Semi-circle bridge) Cross over Ridge Road and continue direction of the city, keep in left lane - this is Berea Road North. Continue over Musgrave Road and turn left into Botanic Gardens Road. Pass The Botanical Gardens, now called Cowey Road. Pass Bread Ahead Bakery & Woolworths Food store. Cross over Marriot Road and at the next traffic light turn right down Clarence Road. Second left is 9th Avenue. We are on the left - no 119 Ninth Avenue (Silver steel car gates)
From Pietermaritzburg / Drakensberg You will be travelling along the N3. As you enter Durban keep in the second left lane. Take the Ridge Road / Tollgate / Berea off ramp. Cross over Ridge Road and continue direction of the city, keep in middle lane - this is Berea Road North. Continue over Musgrave Road and turn left into Botanic Gardens Road at The Institute of Technology. Pass The Botanical Gardens, now called Cowey Road. Pass Bread Ahead Bakery & Woolworths Food store. Cross over Marriot Road and at the next traffic light turn right down Clarence Road. Second left is Ninth Avenue. We are on the left - no 119 Ninth Avenue (Big metal car gates)
From North Coast / Zululand You will be travelling along the N2. +/- 35 km north of Durban take the Ballito off ramp. Turn left, around two traffic circles and at traffic light right - direction Durban / Umhlanga. Continue till you enter Durban, on the right ABSA Rugby Stadium. Keep in the right lane, at first intersection turn right into Argyle Road. Continue up Argyle Road, cross over Umgeni & Windermere Road. Cross over Avondale (traffic light) next left is Ninth Avenue. We are on the right - no 119 Ninth Avenue (Big metal car gates)
