Embark to a 3 days African Safari to an untouched Africa's largest game reserve and the second largest conservation are in Africa “The Selous Game Reserveâ€. This unique game reserve is said to be four times the size of the world famous Serengeti Park and it is one of the remoteness park in Africa featured with lots of attraction which makes it to be one of the greatest safari destination.
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve Early morning leave Dar es Salaam with picnic lunch boxes to Selous game reserves the journey of about 5 hours via Kibiti Lindi. Arrive Selous in the early afternoon hours for check in and a short rest in the camp. After a short rest you will depart for a boat safari along the Rufiji River which normally takes 2 to 3 hours. While on boat safari you will get the chance to get closer to riverine animals such hippos and crocodiles as well some water birds. After the 2 to 3 hours of the boat safari you will get back to the camp where you will enjoy viewing the beautiful sun down. Dinner and overnight at Selous Butembo Tented Lodge.
Day 2: Full day game viewing in Selous Early breakfast in the camp and with well packed picnic lunch depart into the reserve for a full day game drive. Selous Game Reserve has a remarkable number of game animals include the rare seen African wild dogs and the largest population of elephants, lions and leopard among others. This reserves features several oxbow lakes in the northern of the great Rufiji River. During the dry season these lakes shrinks and offers the best grazing sites for animals. The remaining water of the lake offer refugee to the largest population of hippos and the crocodiles. A number of predators such as lions, hyenas and wild dogs can easily spotted here as they are flowing the herds of herbivores which graze at shore of the lakes. The largest of all the oxbow is the lake Tagalala and other small lakes include Lake Manze, Nzerakera and Siwandu. In the late afternoon you will drive back to the camp for a brilliant view of the sunset, dinner and overnight at Selous Butembo Tented Lodge.
Day 3: Selous - Dar es Salaam Early morning depart for a walking safari in the pristine Selous bush which will bring you closer to the nature than any other safari option. Accompanied by your guide and an armed ranger you will track animals in the bush and spot different species of plants. Your guide will also help you to spot different species of birds at closer distance. After spending 2 hours to 3 hours walking in the bush you will then return to camp for packing and depart to Dar es Salaam. While on the way you will stop at Kibiti Lindi for lunch then proceed with the journey to Dar es Salaam. At Dar es Salaam the driver guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight back home or to Zanzibar. End of Services.
