We are close to the Dordogne river where you can experience
all kinds of activities from just relaxing on the river beach to
hiring canoes to lazily paddle down river stopping off for a picnic
lunch or a drink at one of the many café bars or take a trip on a
historic Gabbare at Beynac.If pre- history is your thing this area has
world renowned caves to visit with world heritage status cave
paintings to view. Indeed one of these is just 5 minutes up the road.
You can visit the weekly local markets where all manner of fresh
produce is for sale- ideal for the foodies with the local specialities
available.Golfing is available within a short drive and likewise there
are many fishing lakes in easy reach stocked with specimen Carp,
Catfish and many other varieties.The children will love it here as
there are so many attractions for them.
There is a steam tourist train at Martel and flying demonstrations with the Eagles near Rocamadour
and nearby you can also feed the apes. At Gramat the zoo is one of the
largest in France with over 1000animals including endangered species.
Another great attraction is Insectorama where you can see many strange
and different creepy crawlies - the kids will love it. There are
also adventure playgrounds and the Aquaparc at Quercyland.As you
would expect many superb chateaux are open to visit along with many
different kinds of gardens.If you are adventurous then how about a
walking trail through the tree tops at one of the local “airparcâ€,
perhaps with ziplining to follow or perhaps a ride in a hot air
balloon or hang gliding in tandem.We have numerous walking and cycling
routes close by and bike hire and equipment for all ages and styles

Domme is a short drive away and is classified as one of the best
bastide villages in France. The views from here are fantastic and the
kids will love the tourist train ride around the streets. There are
many individual shops and artisans selling locally made articles and a
great choice of restaurants for that lazy lunch or dinner.
From May to October is festival & Fete season where something is
happening in the local villages be it music gigs, local fairs, vide
greniers (car boot sales) or Petanque competions.We have details of
