Free Ranch Activities for Circle K Guests
Our guests have access to a wide range of FREE and exciting activities that appeal to all ages.
HIKING
Experience the beauty of nature on one of our hiking trails. Trails range from easy and moderate to more difficult.
FISHING
You'll be surrounded with great places to fish, all within 30 minutes of the Ranch. If you enjoy river fishing, you don't even need to leave the Ranch, for the beautiful Dolores River winds its way through our land. After your big catch, our ranch cook will be happy to schedule a fish fry! Fishing licenses may be purchased in the ranch office for those 16 years or older. You may bring your own pole and gear or we have a few rentals to try your luck on.
ROPES OBSTACLE COURSE
Designed for team participation. Teams must develop a strategy and learn to trust and rely on each other to successfully complete the course. This helps develop camaraderie and a spirit of trust among participants. Develop those team working skills!
RODEO HORSE EVENTS
(Only available for “Full Service†group bookings of at least 30 people). Our guests are the participants. We will organize and facilitate a variety of events such as Flag Pick-up, Barrel Races, and Team Relay Races. These events are an uproar to watch and participate in. Ride-em cowboy!!!!
RIVER TUBING
(Bring your own tube). The Dolores River is right at your doorstep. Enjoy exciting float trips through the Dolores Canyon to the Ranch lodge. A bit cold in early June but warms as we get more into the summer. Late August the water may be too low for tubing but you can still swim below the Ranch bridge.
OTHER RANCH ACTIVITIES
Volleyball, softball, basketball, table pool, ping pong, camp fire meetings, Playground for the young ones, capture the flag, field games and more!!!!!
The best view of the Colorado mountains is from the back of a horse.
Circle K's professional and experienced western guest ranch wranglers will guide you on horseback through some of the most beautiful country you will ever lay eyes on. You'll cross high country streams and ride through the forested wildlife habitat of southwest Colorado's famous Rocky Mountain Elk and Mule Deer. Surrounded by tall spruce and Ponderosa pines, Circle K Guest Ranch offers a variety of horseback riding trails in the San Juan Mountains ranging from easy riding trails for novice riders to more challenging terrain for horseback riders with advanced skills.
Our San Juan Mountain location makes us an ideal base camp for family daytrips to numerous area attractions
MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK
Tour the world's largest collection of ancient cliff dwellings right here in southwest Colorado! Mesa Verde National Park is the archaeological gem of the southwest. The National Park features a museum, exhibits, arts and crafts, gift shops, a book store, restaurants, self-tours and ranger guided tours; open year-round. Approximately 50 miles from Circle K Guest Ranch.

DURANGO SILVERTON NARROW GAUGE RAILROAD
Ride this historic steam powered narrow gauge railroad from Durango to Silverton through 45 miles of spectacular canyons and peaks. May through October and a winter train. Advanced reservations recommended. Approximately 70 miles from Circle K Ranch.

TELLURIDE, COLORADO
A National Historic District, well known for its terrific powder skiing and littany of eclectic festivals. Cultural events every summer weekend: Bluegrass, Chamber Music, Jazz Celebration, Wine Festival and the internationally acclaimed Film Festival. Activities: Jeeping, Rafting, ride the ski gondola free of charge in summer and winter. Approximately 38 miles from Circle K Guest Ranch.

DOLORES, COLORADO
Anasazi Heritage Center and Museum, located just outside of Dolores, is part of the new Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, and features self-guided tours, archaeological exhibits and the Escalante and Dominguez Ancestral Puebloan sites. Dolores is well known for excellent cross country ski trails and is home to McPhee Lake, the second largest body of water in Colorado, which features a marina, fishing and water sports. Approximately 26 miles from Circle K Guest Ranch.

Historic 1880′s Colorado mining town, Rico features an historic walking tour, mountain biking, backpacking, off-road driving, cross-country skiing, and brilliant fall colors on the San Juan Skyway National Scenic Byway. Approximately 10 miles from Circle K Guest Ranch.
