A well-established plantation house, at the centre of a working farm.
Sri Mathie was completely renovated in 2004/5. The old part of the house was restored with loving care to its early 1900s roots, and equipped with period light fittings and antiques.
A large mango tree welcomes you at the entrance. A wrap-around porch provides the ideal location to view more than 20 species of indigenous birds (more during periods of migration). The fragrance of jasmine and temple tree flowers fill the air throughout the year.
Staying at Sri Mathie is not for everyone. It's an experience for nature lovers and those seeking an eco holiday and solitude, with access to the markets and shops when you choose. Less than 20 minutes by various transportation (including bicycles) to the beach.
Sri Mathie features four large bedrooms and a separate bungalow.
Nature walks. Bicycling. Local temples and historic sites of interest. Bird watching and photography. Star gazing.
