Join Hurunui Horse Treks for the ultimate equestrian adventure, guided trail rides, pack trips and self drive wagon treks through the sheep and cattle stations in the wilderness of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Riding: Most of our rides involve between 4.5 and 6 hours riding a day except for our “Mountains to the Sea” ride which has days of between 6 and 8 hours riding. The riding is varied and differs each day. Ranging from riding along tracks and river flats to following cattle and game tracks over mountain ranges, the crossing of quiet streams and big rivers. Wherever possible we ride separately from the pack horses and the pace can include trotting and cantering for those able.
