Gunflint Lodge is nested in a pine and birch forest in northern Minnesota adjacent to the famed Boundary Waters Wilderness. The lodge is on Gunflint Lake, a Canadian border lake, one of a myriad of deep clear water lakes in the area. Guests frequently see moose, deer, fox, and eagles as they drive to the resort along the Gunflint Trail.
Deluxe lake homes and cottages vary in size from 1 to 4 bedroom, and have 1-4 bathrooms, all king or queen sized beds, rock fireplaces, full kitchens, private sauna, hot tub, and many with washer and dryer. Guests feed the deer and birds right at their picture window.
Gunflint has two dining choices- Justine's for fine dining and the Red Paddle Bistro for lighter more casual meals. The lodge accommodates wireless internet connections, although we hope you leave your computer at home so you enjoy your northwoods vacation to the fullest extent. The waterfront includes boats, motors, canoes, kayaks, and a small sand beach. The riding stable offers a variety of guided rides. In the winter cross country skiing, snowshoeing and dog sledding are popular activities.

From Duluth, take the scenic North Shore Drive (Highway 61)100 miles northeast to Grand Marais. Then take the Gunflint Trail 43 miles (Cty Rd 12) to the Gunflint Lodge entrance (Cty Rd 50). The lodge is 3/4 of a mile in on the side road.
