The fortress township "Bourtange" is well worth a visit and lies approx. 200 kilometers (124 miles) north east from Amsterdam in the quaint and tranquil province Groningen. In the summer, on sunday's, an authentic medieval canon will be fired by the local medieval "watchguard" to honour the days past...
