If you enjoy peace and tranquility in beautiful surroundings then you will love Blue Sky villa. Located in a small village in rural Portugal it is a recently completed fully restored property. The village where it is located is known for it's restored windmills and there is also a picnic area. The views from the windmills over the vineyards and villages is spectacular. It's is a nice walk from the villa and you can enjoy a picnic and watch the sun set. There are lots of small towns and villages to visit in the area and the silver coast beaches are approx 40 minutes drive away. There are also castles, caves, ruins, medieval mosaics, river bathing, gokarting, a water park etc all within easy access. You can do as much or as little as you want. It really is like stepping back in time and enjoying a slower pace of life. Fresh bread is delivered to the village daily delicious to enjoy whilst enjoying the view from one of the two upper terraces. If you enjoy bird watching there are lots of varieties in the area, including birds of prey.

Visiting Alfama is to visit the architecture, the sounds and the smells of old Lisbon. This is one of the most typical Lisbon's quarters. On its narrow streets you'll find a the hidden treasure and on its steep stairs you will be able to breathe the soul of Lisbon. Alfama is one of the most emblematic quarters and one of the most rewarding for walkers and photographers thanks to its medieval alleys and outstanding views.
Because its foundation is dense bedrock, it survived to the 1755 earthquake, and a walk through this oldfashioned residential neighborhood is now a travel in time. It is a village within a city made of narrow streets, tiny squares, churches, and whitewashed houses with wroughtiron balconies decorated with pots of flowers, drying laundry, and singing birds.
It was settled by the Romans and Visigoths (it was also an important Jewish quarter in the 15th century), but it was the Moors who gave the district its atmosphere and name (alhama means springs or bath, a reference to the hot springs found in the area). They were also responsible for its web of streets created as a defense system, while at the same time enabling their homes to remain cool in the summer.
Alfama has influenced poets and novelists, and although Bairro Alto is the city's traditional Fado quarter, it is Alfama that has always been the inspiration for Fado songs, and is becoming just as popular with Fado Houses. The district has an intangible quality that needs to be experienced to be truly appreciated, and the best way to get to know it is to get a little lost (something almost impossible to avoid), and wander around admiring the postcardperfect views, visiting the churches, and walking up to the castle for the most breathtaking panorama of the city and the greatest sunsets.
Contrasting with these timeless images is a trendy modern development by the waterfront across from Santa Apolnia railway station. It houses stylish design shops, restaurants, and one of Europe's top clubs "Lux."

The nearest shops are less than 1500 metres and there is a restaurant / bar just 100 metres from the villa. The typical town of Guia, with its famous chicken restaurants is just a short drive. Just outside Guia you find Zoomarine sea life and water park, open all year round. Also nearby there is the Guia Retail Park and Algarve Shopping (a shopping mall) with its many shops, restaurants, Ten Pin bowling and an hypermarket. The nearest Golf Courses are the Salgados situated to the west of Albufeira and the Balaia and Pine Cliffs situated to the east of the town. There are many beaches to choose from within a 10 minute drive. Car hire is recommended when staying in this accommodation although there is a circuit bus service approx. 800 metres from the complex.

Loul, one of the oldest towns in the region is situated 18 km (11 miles) north west of Faro in the barrocal, the foothills of the Algarve mountains. Loul is a busy centre with its colourful and bustling Saturday morning market, which is famous amongst the locals and holidaymakers. The market has an excellent selection of fruit and vegetables, and fresh fish every day.

Leatherwear such as bags, belts and shoes, or embroidered linen and tableware, are also to found in abundance, so too is pottery. Loul is a town where craftsmanship is still very active.

Loul is the centre of the Algarvian craft industry and you will often see artisans working brass, copper or clay in and about the streets of Loul. The Moorish castle that dominates the town the town with its thick boundary walls is a proud and imposing structure. Today is houses the local tourist office and a museum.

Loul has a maze of narrow alleyways lined with tall compact houses contrasts with an expansive boulevard shaded by rows of trees, which in spring burst into pinkyred blossom. Loul is famous throughout Portugal as it hosts the biggest and most flamboyant celebrations at Carnival time, it also celebrates the almond blossom festival at the same time.

The Quintassential is close to the world famous golf course of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo. The waterparks are a mere 10 minutes away and so too are the beaches of Quarteira and Quinta do Lago.

For the quiet folk we also have some of the most beautiful walks and for the bird watchers we have some of the rarest birds in Europe on our doorstep.

The Quintassential is open all year round so that guests can enjoy the 3000 hours of sunshine the Algarve has to offer. We understand that with low cost airlines it may be better to travel on days other than Sunday or Thursday, so we are flexible with our arrival and departure days.

Outside The Quintassential is blessed with panoramic sea views and spectacular countryside views, just what you need for a tranquil and relaxing holiday. The gardens at Quintassential, just over an acre, are marvellous with many bushes, plants and fruit trees, along with quiet areas to relax and absorb the views.

The Quintassential has a large heated pool area, the pool measures 10 x 5 m and cushioned sun loungers, parasols etc are provided for the use of the guests. The Quintassential now also boasts at the pool area its own outside freestanding hot tub/Jacuzzi for guest use. The pool is heated during the cooler months from 1st October until 30th April and there is no additional charge for heating the pool.

There will also be available from spring 2008 a childrens play area with swings, slide, seesaw all amidst an orange grove.
