Our house stands up the hill over viewing a charming market town of Prades. The road from Perpignan is lined with apple, peach and apricot orchards that start blossoming in March that's a view! The town centre, a 10minute stroll, has a lot of restaurants well worth visiting and all the necessary shops, banks and ATMs, 2 very good supermarkets and one organic supermarket, selling a huge variety of whole foods and local organic wine. There is a large municipal swimming pool and tennis courts in town.Prades is an activity heaven all year round. Skiing (DecemberMarch) at 5 or 6 Pyrenean resorts (low cost, great quality) that could be reached in 40 min but you can also enjoy it at Col de Jau, the smallest skiing resort in Europe in 15 km from Prades (2 downhill ski pistes, crosscountry ski, snowshoe walking).
