Amarillo, located in the Texas Panhandle, the City known as the "Yellow Rose", is one of a few remaining Texas cities where a feeling of the Old West still lingers on.
Parkview House Bed and Breakfast is centally located at the edge of Amarillo's Historic District, minutes from I40, I27, downtown/Civic Center, Historic Old Route 66, and Palo Duro Canyon.
There are lots of great fun things to do. See a real rodeo, hike, picnic, and or ride horseback in the Palo Duro Canyon.
( second largest Canyon in the U.S.!) Attend either of the two seasonal outdoor musicals "TEXAS", held in the Palo Duro Canyon, or "Lone Star Rising", held at Lake Meredith.
Especially interesting museums are the American Quarter Horse Heritage and the Panhandle Plains Historical museums.

PALO DURO CANYON STATE PARK The nations, 2nd largest canyon is just 20 miles from the inn. The Amarillo area is home to TWO great seasonal outdoor shows. "Texas Legacies", a musical drama and "Lone Star Rising" a cultural musical . An other claim to fame is the city's segment of historical Route 66. Amarillo also has the only American Quarter Horse Heritage Center & Museum in the USA .In near by Canyon, home to West Texas A and M University, is PanhandlePlains Historical Museum, Texas' largest, covering a little of everything from before the the Stone Age to the present .
