Bird watching, hiking, trail riding, fishing, canoeing, leisurely strolls alongside wildflower fields, star gazing, observing wildlife, and just plain enjoying life in a natural setting is all possible at The Natural Gait .We have many types of lodging and camping choices. Our three fullyfurnished beautiful log cabins are perched high on the ridge overlooking the river. The cabins sleep up to eight. The Ion Inn and the MuleTel is located at Ion Exchange just a few minutes scenic drive from the cabins which are located at The Natural Gait.The Lodge/s Great Room comfortably holds 50 people for dinners, receptions, meetings, and more. Covered Wagon Ranch is a family guest ranch that offers mountain riding for anyone's ability. We ride in Yellowstone Park, and Gallatin National Forest. We also provide overnight horse pack trip adventures in the Rocky Mountains. Guests can expect to see wildlife such as Elk, Moose, Deer, Eagles, possible Wolves, and Bears. We cater to all levels of riding ability, keep our groups very small and according to riding skills. We are definitely not a "nose to tail" operation. Our Ranch Manager, Jeremy Young, is a skilled horse clinician and teaches all levels of riding ability.

Our wildlife safaris in Knight Inlet will view Grizzly Bears while they fish for salmon and while they wander and graze on the beaches. Often there will be a few very large ones as well as mothers with this years cubs. You will also see Black Bear on the beaches as well as Orca, feeding on salmon, Humpback Whales chasing the herring, Bald Eagles feeding next to your boat, Dolphins playing with you and your safari boat and noisy fat Sea Lions complaing on the rocks. This will be a trip you'll never forget!
