. Haleiwa town is the mecca of surfing. People from all around the world converge here every winter to ride the biggest and best surfing waves in the world. The summer months MayAugust are great for swimming and snorkeling this is when the ocean is resting before it prepares for another winter. There are several stunning beaches for sunbathing,yoga,swimming, and watching the sunset. Haleiwa town is also home of Waialua sugar and agriculture. Sugar has been phased out(1994) and the old sugar mill is now home to a soap factory,surfboard manufacturers, and a coffee/chocolate outlet.
