Taylors Falls is one of the most scenic areas in the state of Minnesota. Great walls of rock were carved by huge glaciers forming what we now call the Dalles. The St. Croix River was bustling with loggers dangerously guiding their bounty along the river, which now attracts many canoeists, kayakers, swimmers, fishermen, boaters, and snowmobilers. Wild River State Park boasts of having over 33 miles of the most scenic crosscountry skiing in the state and Wild Mountain Recreation Area prides itself on being the first ski area open in the state in the past 20 years. Wild Moutain also features waterslides, go carts, alpine slide and lazy river in the summer, along with boat cruises through the Dalles. You may book lunch or dinner cruises or just the scenic cruise. There are train rides nearby featuring an original steam engine and caboose rides too. There is tubing down the Sunrise River on a lazy afternoon and horseback riding just down the road and also rock climbing. Gandy Dancer bike trail is a short distance away and golfing, regular and miniature, are also nearby. There are craft and antique shops,and historic buildings to tour.

While traveling down the Root River and State Trail outstanding views of the soaring limestone bluffs and the abundant sighting of wild turkey, deer, hawks and turkey vultures will keep you entertained.
