Essex Steam Train & Riverboat, Essex Village, Chamard Vineyards, Connecticut River Museum, Florence Griswold Museum, and the factory outlet malls are only 10 min. away. The rural town of Tolland lies in Connecticut's eastern hills, halfway between Hartford and Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Named in 1713, the town grew with small farms surrounding a classic English town green, where town offices, churches, taverns and stage coach stop were located.

Tolland has retained much of its original architecture and the town green is now a historic district with two small museums in place. The Tolland Inn stands on the green and is a great location for just getting away, antiquing in the area, visiting the nearby University of Connecticut main campus at Storrs, or for daytrips to Old Sturbridge Village, Mystic, Hartford attractions, the Brimfield Antique Shows, Six Flags and more.
