Cadeau is 13.5 metres long and displace 14 tons wwa (without wine aboard). Her 100 sq. mts. of sail can push her to 8 knots or more when surfing. The spinnaker is 170 sq. mts. and gives a lot of emotions as well as work. Swans typical companionway is horizontal and gives access to the main living area. The woodwork is impeccable, of semisatinated teak. The layout is classic navigation area to starboard, the galley to port and the saloon in front of the mast. The front cabin has plenty of storage room, a huge double bed and a private companionway. The aft cabin has a single and a double bed, and is warm and luminous. The heads, with warm shower, are very wide for its category. Originnally designed for the Members of New York Yacht, it did not take much to win many races at Cowes. As in the first whitbread, where a Swans arrived 1st, 3rd and 4th, a series boat was calling the shots. All thanks to the legendary hands of Rod Stephens mingled with the proverbial finnish seriousness. As the same Nautor says, no one can afford to build a boat under S&S specifications any more.

Since the beginning of 20th century Positano has been the favourite place of many famous people from all over the world, especially artists. All guidebooks will offer you the long list of famous writers, musicians, dancers, painters, sculptors, photographers and actors who have lived or spent their holidays here, being inspired by the magic of the spots. Nowadays businessmen, politicians, TV stars and a lot of common people like us are guests of the town in any season.
Why do all these people visit Positano?
The answer is that the town is a really beatiful and friendly place, with its typical mediterranean architecture and fine views, just in the heart of Amalfi Coast, a worldwide known and most attractive touristarea.
The small streets and the flights of steps that characterise Positano offer a wide variety of small shops, typical workshops, ateliers, and cafes. That's why shopping or just strolling and wandering around are the first thing that all tourists do in Positano. The place is popular for the production of clothes, lemon liqueurs and sweets, handmade shoes, and many other specialities that you will discover here. Positano has an ancient history as part of the medieval Republic of Amalfi, but there are very few founds from that period. The most part of the monuments date back to the 18th century. The church of Santa Maria Assunta, near the beach, has a fine majolica dome and a couple of notable old paintings. Palazzo Murat is now a hotel, but it often hosts public cultural events, so it is quite easy to visit its interiors. Classic music, literature and ballet are at home in Positano. Ask the Tourist Office about happenings and shows during your stay (the most famous are the Leonide Massine Art of Ballet Award, in September, and The International Chamber Music Festival, in August). Just out of the bay there is a group of small islands, called "Li Galli". They have belonged to the choreographer Leonide Massine and to the dancer Rudolf Nureyev. They are private, so it is not possible to land there, but it is a nice place to get by boat for swimming. Finally, don't forget to taste local food and wine they are worth booking a table at a restaurant at least once. And remember that Positano is a good starting point to visit many interesting sites, suche as Pompei, Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento and Capri.
