St.Lucia is a lush tropical island with mountains to climb, rain forests and plantations to explore, open markets for shopping, reefs to snorkel, secluded beaches for swimming. The capital of Castries is a short twenty minute ride by car or bus. There you will find a number of shops, both local and duty free. Tour the local fruit and vegetable market, open daily except Sunday. Or if you wish a more energetic vacation, climb the world famous Pitons or explore the rain forest. If touring is your thing, you will want to go to the rum factory (a short 10 minute drive from the house) or take a tour of the west coast of the island and its spectacular scenery. There is a dive and watersports shop within walking distance of the house you can go out on one of the daily dives or rent a sailboat and view the island from the sea. Or if your idea of a vacation is a good book and some sunshine, this is your spot. Relax on the sun porch at the house or at the pool or beach a two minute walk from the house. Lots to do nothing you have to do.
