Swell Tours Guest Lodge

For the surf adventurer out there who is searching for un-crowded waves in rugged, unspoiled surroundings we offer the Transkei as an attractive destination. Situated between KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape, the Transkei is one of South Africa's last untapped resources when it comes to surf travel. Transkei is for those who wish to escape from the cities and crowds and go exploring the many secluded coves, bays and points for good, quality surf and the most spectacular beaches.

Our Wild Coast accommodation is owned by Pro Surfer, Justin Sanders and his partner, Lee-Ann Smith. The Guest Lodge is situated on the South side of the Mdumbi River.

The Guest Lodge sleeps 8 people:
2 – En-suite Rondavels – each with double beds.
2 – Dorm Style Rooms – separate bathrooms – two single beds in each


Our kitchen has a freezer, fridge, stove, cutlery & crockery, toast & kettle – we run off a generator. A lovely chill room and eating area is next to the kitchen with a spectacular view. Braaiing is no problem as we have a huge braai and chill area as well as a bonfire!

Distance from the beach & River: 2 minute drive to the beach and a 6 minute walk!

Directions

DIRECTIONS FROM MTHATA – coming from Durban:

Once you arrive in Mthata, take a left at the 3rd set of traffic lights where you will see a Wildcoast Sign.

Stay straight on this road – you will pass a Sasol on your right hand side. Travel for about 4 km’s until you see the Ngqceleni turning. Take a right into the Ngqceleni turning and travel for 25 km’s passing straight through Ngqceleni Town.

You will then get to the gravel road. You will now travel exactly 37 km’s on the gravel road and you will come to a left hand turn. (If you go 200 meters too far you will see a soccer field on the right hand side.) Take the left hand turn.

Stay straight on this road until you come to a fork in the road – stay right.

Follow this road until you get to your second left hand turn – take the left hand turn and follow this road until you reach Swell Tours Guest Lodge on the left hand side. (You will travel for about 6 km’s from the turning.)
