Dar Zerhoune

Dar Zerhoune is located in the heart of Moulay Idriss Zerhoune. A few minutes walk from the sacred mausoleum, traditional local markets and main square where you can watch locals go about their shopping or pilgrimage as you enjoy a coffee or traditional mint tea.

From our roof terrace you can see Volubilis, the roman ruins which is 5km away, and watch the sunset over the Zerhoune mountain range as you relax with a cup of fresh mint tea.

Dar Zerhoune has free WIFI, breakfast is included and our local manager grew up in Moulay Idriss and speaks arabic, french, english, spanish and italian so can take you on a tour of the area, or give you local knowledge as you relax in our traditional lounge. We can arrange tours, cooking classes, trips to the hammam and henna.


At Dar Zerhoune you will be welcomed with mint tea served on the terrace, where you can relax with the view of Moulay Idriss, the mountains and Volubilis - just 5 km away.

Dar Zerhoune has WIFI internet, a computer, board games, lounge room and two terraces to relax on, sleep on! and watch the sunrises and sunsets from.

All rooms have an ensuite bathroom, with the exception of a dorm/family room that can sleep up to 4 people. This has a separate and dedicated bathroom.

Directions

Dar Zerhoune is in Moulay Idriss Zerhoune, near Meknes, Morocco. Using public transport, catch the train to Meknes 'Gare El Amir', and then a petit taxi to the Grand taxi station at the 'French Institute' (approx. 5 Dirhams). Catch the grand taxi to 'Moulay Idriss' and this will cost 10 Dirhams for one place in a shared taxi.

In Moulay Idriss you will be dropped off at the carpark in the markets, walk up to the main square, and mausoleum, and take the steps to the right of the mausoleum. At the top turn right, then immediately left at the fountain and in about 100m you will see the sign for 'Dar Zerhoune' on your right hand side, down the steps.
