The White Lion

A visionary and completely unique new hostel run by Music 4 Children, a charity dedicated to helping vulnerable children worldwide.

Conveniently located in a large Victorian building on the well connected Streatham High Street, the complex includes accommodation for 70 people, a fantastic bar with live music most evenings and an enclosed beer garden.

In the hostel section you will find clean, bright and airy rooms sleeping between 2 and 8 people, including rooms with double beds for couples who desire privacy. Facilities are first class with an abundance of clean toilets, bath & shower rooms, and all guests have unlimited access to our 3 fully equipped kitchens.

Music is at the heart of this venue and if you love it as much as we do, you will have no shortage of like-minded souls to hang out with here. The cellar hosts rehearsal rooms for bands and the hostel is run by highly experienced live music promoters, so you can expect to enjoy a wide range of first class live acts almost every evening. If you are a musician or performer visiting London, you have found the right place. If we like your act we may even book you to perform in our bar.


Currently in development are 3 roof terrace eco-gardens with amazing views of London which our guests will have full access to when completed. The project is supported by a number of experts and charities and will be something truly special when unveiled later this year.

Being run by a charity focused on children, the hostel is naturally a very friendly environment for your children too. We have a dedicated and safe playpen area and we will host a range of fun and educational workshops for children in a separate building at the back of the venue.

You just type in where you are staring from, and where you want to go, and it tells you what the best route is and whether to travel via bus, tube or rail! It’s a handy tool to have! If you are staying in London for a few days or more, I suggest you get an Oyster card for travelling. It will be of great use and benefit! They require a £3 deposit, but they will save you lots of money and are available in most shops and stations. You just top them up as you want and you can use the bus and tube at discount rates!

We are also close very close to areas such as Stockwell, Brixton, Clapham and Wimbledon.

Our nearest bus stop is just outside the door, and there are a lot of buses which will have you in the centre of London in 30 mins - give or take! And with an Oyster card will cost you just £1. Most of the buses run all through the night, so you don’t have to worry about staying out too late! You can check all the buses that are available on the TFL website above.
