Hi friends, my name is Wang Zhi. Some of you may have known me for years, remember the 'gadget guru' Edward in Mix Hostel :-) After much preparation myself and my team newly started a hostel of our own called “Traffic Inn” and like usual we are ultra excited to see you in Chengdu: it's our hometown we vow to be good hosts!

Please let me start off by telling you something about our city. In Three Kingdoms Era (220-263AD) Chengdu the then Shu Kingdom is one of the three contending powers in Red Cliff straight where the most epic sea battles were fought in ancient Chinese history, this marks the beginning of China divided into the hands of three states constantly at war with each other, they are namely Wei, Shu, and Wu. Chinese saw Battle of Red Cliff as good example of friendship and trust between Shu and Wu (with its capital in present day Nanking) united against bullying Wei and won. We are interested in many Chinese legend and folklore, it's why we chose the name Red Cliff for our hostel management team, with a commitment to building long lasting relationships in even the smallest things we do for you.

~~~~~~Hostel features~~~~~~
The new 'Traffic Inn' now dedicated to travelers is built into the time-honored Traffic Hotel serving world-wide guests since President Deng Xiao Ping’s economic reform in 1980s. Building has elevators for the elderly, a lively bar for the young and a spacious garden dotted with trees, rock chairs and hammock in a laid-back surround. The garden receives ample sunshine in summer where you can comfortably rest on our double beach chairs, do morning yoga amidst the cultivated flowers, or read a book on the lawn. Wireless internet seamlessly covers the whole area, oh but don't leave your laptop untended our lovely golden retriever dog might think of it as food.

Traffic Inn was designed to provide the best quality lodging & cheapest cost in mind, now offering more cabinets and racks for your belongings and more lockers space for valuables in the dorm rooms. No longer will you have to scatter the room with socks or jump over your backpack to move about. For meeting others we built a loft style bar adjacent to the garden featuring pool table, darts, satellite TV, High Definition movie, lively music as well as combining a popular selection of Sichuan & Western food served until midnight.

Going online in room is not a problem, all rooms can receive wireless signal and we optimally distribute bandwidth so the speed of your connection won't be affected if someone else is downloading stuff. Except for dorm rooms, all have telephones.

Our staff can speak decent English, and are confident to answer most of your travel questions, we double check all information given online in order to make sure it's the most accurate.

Directions

Airport:
by taxi it's about 60 CNY, or 10 CNY by airport shuttle bus 303 parked out front the exit gates. (see map getting to our hostel from airport)

North Train station:
By taxi it's about 15 CNY, or take bus 55 a little walking down south off the main intersection (see map getting to our hostel by bus)

Bus station:
We are located 100 meters to the right of Xinnanmen Tourist bus station, you can't miss us by the river alley.
