Surrounding Area

Connemara is without doubt one of the most scenic areas in Ireland. People return to this area again and again. Theres lots to do here, there are numerous sandy beaches, gofing at Ballyconneely, Fishing in the famous lakes and rivers, spectacular hill walking in the mountains, cycling, bird watching, scuba diving, sea-cruises, heritage tours, garden tours, deep sea fishing from numerous locations. There are 3 excellent Pony Trekking centres within 12 miles.
Connemara is a place to unwind, de-stress, relax and breathe in the fresh, clean air. You will also experience the genuine warmth of the Connemara people.

Accommodations

Buttermilk Lodge is a purpose built guesthouse, offering high standards of accommodation and excellent level hospitality ! The location is ideal, it's just 5 minutes walk to Clifden town with its renowned restaurants, pubs, shops, galleries etc and yet you are almost in the countryside.

Rooms/Suites

Each bedroom is individually decorated, furnished to a high standard and named after a local lake. All have views of the surrounding countryside and towards the Twelve Bens mountain range.If you wish to visit 'your lake' we have directions !
All bedrooms have private shower room , some with bath tub, every modern convenience, wifi, telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities, and many extras !
You will love the decor, big comfy beds, sparkling clean bathrooms and the growing collection of cows !
Our Double Rooms have a King or Queen Size Bed.
Our Twin Rooms have 2 single beds.
Our Triple Rooms have One Double Bed and One Single Bed.
Our Single Room are Doubles for Single occupancy.

Restrictions

We cater for children over the age of 5 only. Our home is a non smoking home.

Rates & Availability

Rates are from E 40 to E50 per person sharing, Single occupancy form E 50 to E75 per night.

Other Information

On our farmland nearby we raise Connemara Ponies, ( Irelands Native Pony) and Connemara Blackface Sheep, we also have 2 dogs, Toby our Sheepdog and Harley our Golden Retriever, If you would like to meet the animals just let us know !

Directions

From Galway take the N59 west to Clifden, as you arrive in town turn right at the second Esso filling station onto the Westport Rd and we are 400 metres up this road on the left.

From Westport take the N59 south to Clifden, as you arrive in town we are on your right just after the 50km speed limit sign.
