
Hitra Fjord Hostel is located right by the sea in peaceful and idyllic old Fillangrenda on the island Hitra on the beautiful coast of Trøndelagskysten in Mid-Norway.
The Hostel is located together with Hitra Fjordhotell and is within walking distance of the express boat quay and centre of the Island, Fillan, with its shopping centers, bowling alley, swimming baths, etc. The hostel has 13 rooms with 43 beds. Hitra is an island with a direct road connection to the mainland and are beautifully situated on the coast of Trøndelag, only a two-hour drive south-west of Trondheim. Hitra are known as one of the best destinations in the world for deep sea fishing. But we have much more to offer our guests as well. We have a wide range of activities and adventures in store for you.

To mention a few: a beautiful archipelago featuring thousands of islands and islets, hundreds of fishing lakes, sparsely populated islands (for ex. with only 4-6 permanent residents), a thriving bird life, Northern Europe’s most densely populated red deer herd, picturesque fishing villages, crystal-clear scuba diving conditions, scenic bicycle and rambling routes, eagle and seal safari, plenty of festivals, a national coastal museum, local culinary delicacies, whale-watching, an historical park, a landscape preservation area (Froan) and not least of all comfortable and unique overnight accommodation facilities. Directions
Hitra is located 130 km from Trondheim. Drive E 39 from Trondheim to Orkanger. From Orkanger, follow Rv 714 all the way to Hitra. Orkanger is located 40 km southwest of Trondheim. Rv 714 passes across Hitra and on to Frøya. In order to pass through the Hitra tunnel, which at 260m depth is one of Europe’s deepest tunnels, you need to pay a toll fee. On the trip to Hitra you will experience varied nature with plenty of large mountains, fjord arms, angling lakes, waterfalls, red deer and plenty more. The bus company Trønderbilene offers daily departures from Trondheim to Hitra and Frøya. See www.tronderbilene.no for timetable. Boat Kystekspressen is an express boat that will take you to Hitra from Trondheim or Kristiansund. Hitra is located in the middle between Trondheim and Kristiansund. Trondheim Airport Værnes is the closest major airport and is located 160 kilometers from Hitra.
