Jinghuo Traditional Courtyard Bed And Breakfast

Conveniently located 2.5 km north of the Forbidden City, this prize-winning* family-run bed and breakfast guesthouse offers a range of accommodation to suit every budget, including private rooms and shared dormitories.

Situated in a hutong (narrow street) in the Gulou district, the house is a fine example of the traditional Beijing courtyard style, with lattice windows and ornately painted woodwork around a central terrace. The interior combines traditionally furnished rooms and full modern facilities. All rooms have en suite shower facilities, central heating, air-conditioning, TV and broadband internet access. For a honeymoon couple we can offer a private double room decorated and furnished in a traditional Chinese style.


Local attractions within easy walking distance include the Gulou and Zhonglou (Drum and Bell Towers), Houhai and Shichahai Lakes, Nanluoguxiang Bar Street, tourist shops, and many restaurants. Excellent transport links via taxi, bus (0.2 km) and underground train (0.5 km) give easy access to key tourist sites including Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City (Palace Museum), Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, and Bird's Nest (Olympic Stadium).

We offer a friendly, personal service to all our guests. Room charges include breakfast (Beijing style). For your arrival / departure we can arrange transport from / to Beijing Airport or a railway station. Tours can also be arranged to the local hutongs, to Beijing tourist sites, and even to the Great Wall. We welcome you to come and stay!

We can arrange transport from or to Beijing airport or a railway station.

If you prefer to make your own way, come to Jiuguloudajie, a main street in the Gulou district of Beijing. Then turn west into Qianmachang Hutong. The guesthouse is number 9, about 50 metres along on the right hand side. Look for the double front door with a pattern.

If you are coming by underground train, get off at Guloudajie station. After you leave the station turn right along Jiuguloudajie. Qianmachang Hutong is about 500 metres on the right.
