Pelourinho's most original hostel, Hostel Cobreu, is ideally located in the historical center of Salvador, within walking distance to the best live music and all major attractions of the city. We regard the hostel as a comfortable and friendly home away from home. We offer a theater with 300 DVD’s to choose from, free internet access and wifi, book exchange, and breathtaking views of the old city from our balconies. We offer private rooms, family rooms, and dorms. Our showers have hot and cold water with strong pressure. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, and laundry service is available. Cobreu is networked with dance and capoeira academies, language and volunteer programs, and owners Hector and Amelia offer an in-exhaustible support system during your stay. The hostel also donates certain proceeds to local charities and orphanages, providing a direct link for visitors to help the local community. The inside of the hostel is decorated with vibrant graffiti by Salvador’s most renowned graffiti artist. The restaurant and bar downstairs, Cafe Alquimia, is a hotspot among local artists, musicians, and travelers alike. Serving vegetarian and Arabic food, many late nights are sure to be spent drinking caipirinhas with the Alquimia crowd. Playing everything from jazz to forro, samba to hip-hop, the cafe/bar is an easy favorite. Directions

Property Cobreu is located on the Ladeira do Carmo 22, in the Historic Center of Salvador. The building itself sits on the Escaderia do Paço, a historic stairway and Tuesday night dancefloor for the biggest and best street party in Pelourinho.
From the airport or rodoviaria, take any bus to Praça da Se. Walk through the Pelourinho towards Santo Antonio. Cobreu is the last building before the stairs on the left of the street. After 6pm, Sunday, and holidays, we advise you take a taxi.
