What follows is a description is our sister hostel , a jungle lodge where you receive one free night after staying at Buzios (min. 4 days)South Americas newest and only jungle adventure and beach hostel and nature preserve is only a two and a half hour scenic ride from Rio, in the heart of the Atlantic Rainforest's ( an environment once attached to Amazonia). The rainforest's most spectacular and largest waterfall (see left) and tropical whitewater river (see photo gallery) are actually inside the Jungle Beach Nature Preserve and Hostel property.
This extraordinary and environmentally sensitive area was acquired by an ex backpacker and now an award winning environmental activist. This world class location has been opened up for international independent travelers and backpackers, young and young hearted as a social environmental project to create global awareness on the importance of rainforest preservation. Directions
Go to the Rio bus station (rodoviária). Buy a ticket to Buzios, upon embarking the bus you are to tell the driver that you will be getting off at shopping cinco mil ENTRADA DE GERIBA( pronounced: chopping sinco meal ) at this point the driver will decide whether you should take your backpacks up on the bus or under. Upon arriving to Buzios main entrance you will pass a line of flags from around the world, get up from your seat, walk to the front of the bus and remind the driver to drop you off at shopping cinco mil (you are not to continue to the buses last stop). Get off at shopping cinco mil and you will see a sign that says Geriba Beach, walk about 50 meters towards the beach and you will see a small sign on your left side that says Buzios Beach, walk in or pull the fishing line and coconut several times to ring bell.
