The Green Monkey

Located in the heart of 'The Wood' yet only a short stroll to the city is this small and wonderfully friendly backpackers. The charming character house with its mountain backdrop is a stones throw from the beautiful Matai River and its refreshing swimming holes.

Like you the owners have travelled the world, (as well as New Zealand) and have a wealth of knowledge which we happily share with our guests.

We are also able to advise on local trips and are booking agents for the various activities which you will enjoy in this beautiful location.

5-10 minutes flat walk from the city
8 minutes flat walk from i-site along the beautiful Matai River
10 minutes flat walk from intercity terminal
$15 shuttle from Airport to the door
