Hostal Colibrí Puyo

Located a few blocks from downtown Puyo, The Colibri (Hostal Colibri) continues to be the foreigners' favorite --volunteers, students, TV crews, journalists and tourists alike.

Our 8 spacious rooms (1-4 people each) open onto a quiet patio with a little garden and hammocks. Each room has a private bath with hot water.
Our cozy restaurant offers light meals, sandwiches and vegetarian dishes at night and breakfast in the morning.

The hostel is run by an expat with many years' experience in Puyo, Ecuador and South America. We work with experienced guides in organizing group trips to Ecuador as well as day trips to local farms, indigenous communities, national parks, reserves, swimming rivers, waterfalls, etc. Over the years we have developed a variety of contacts with many local and international organizations and foundations and we'll gladly provide volunteer placement assistance and logistical help with all kinds of projects.

Directions

From the bus station (terminal terrestre) it is the easiest to take a taxi to 'Hostal Colibri' on Calle Manabi. We are just minutes away and the ride is $1. If you prefer to walk, it's about 10 blocks. Ask for the Escuela Vacas Galindo, and we are 1 block from the school on Calle Manabi.

From the center of town, go downhill (following Av. Ceslao Marín) from the statue at the 'Y' (fork in the road) 1 long block till you get to the Av. Manabi, where you take a right. Go 1.5 blocks and we are on the left.
