Good Weekend break One of the best ways to relax over the weekend. We had been as a big family (grp of 11). The people there are very helpful and made us very comfy. We reached in the night and slept in the shacks. The blankets and mattress are clean. You can also request for pitching your own tents outside which are very safe and a different experience. The next day morning, we had set out on a plantation walk after tea with Shabari guiding us. It was very refreshing. Post breakfast we had been to a private waterfalls which was very good. The guide helped us in rapelling up and down in the rocks. We had major fun. Came back for lunch, rested a while in the evening followed by camp fire. We had a great time @ the camp. The food is very tasty and good. The place does not have electricity, but you never feel its absence and actually it made the place more beautiful. A must visit if you want a break from the routine. Absolute value for money.

Description of Surrounding Area

Civet Creek is located in Coorg, Karnataka and Kerala border.
It is a 6 hours drive from Bangalore.
Some of the key attractions around this place are the hill station Madikeri , Talacauvery, Nisargadhama, Dubare elephant training camp, Abbe falls, Nagarahole national park.


Civet Creek offers a wide spectrum of nature camping along with a range of outdoor activities.
The camp is located at the end of a winding road and next to the fringes of a tropical forest in the western ghats of Coorg.
Surrounding the camp are acres of coffee and cardamom plantations and stretches of paddy fields as far as the eye can see, all encompassed by the mountain ranges in the background. One constantly hears the chirping of birds in the vicinity and gurgling stream at the edge of the camp.
Activities on offer include trekking along jungle trails leading to a waterfall, bird watching, cycling, target shooting, cricket and volleyball.
Later in the night one can stargaze using the in-house telescope relaxing by a campfire.

Accommodation will be provided in imported high quality insect proof all weather dome tents with comfortable sleeping arrangements.
One can choose to stay in the comfortable shacks or find a spot and pitch a tent.
Clean modern bathrooms and toilets with 24 Hr hot running water provided.
It is a very safe place to single travelers and also a good place for pets.
