A quiet night's rest for the professional or student who is traveling, Laura's House, our professionals’ house and hostel, offers an independent, clean and private atmosphere. All rooms come standard with a full or queen sized bed, private work space, private bathroom, hi-speed internet, wall to wall carpet and over sized historic windows. Personal items can be secured in each room. There are a total of five rooms in this quiet house, all with private bathrooms. To encourage an authentic experience, our house blends well with the neighborhood.

Amenities include a furnished kitchen, complete with a George Foreman grill, juicer, electric stove, microwave and washer and dryer.

We specialize in hosting Independent Travelers who are coming to the DC Metro Area. We happy to answer any questions you may have and along with a few local brochures offering information and activities. For the majority of the stay, the interactions you will have with our Administrator/s is minimal.


Expensive tickets, towing and booting are all apart of the driving in our nation’s capitol. The Department of Motor Vehicles is serious about regulations and makes no exceptions for visitors. Laura's House offers lots of free parking space and metro accessi bility. We are 3 minutes to three parking Metro stations on the orange and blue lines (best lines for tourists) by car. The closest station is Capitol Heights. If on foot, the bus gets you to the Capitol Heights metro in 7 minutes, however we suggest you take at taxi. Allow 15 minutes if walking. Once to the metro, you can be in Downtown DC in 18 minutes, Chinatown in 14 minutes, and Capitol Hill in 12 minutes. Cab rides to/from the Metros are about $5/day and $7 at night.

Payment is due upon arrival. We require everyone to clean up after themselves (we provide cleaning products), Check-In is by your arrival time, Check Out is 10AM. Please confirm it with us at least 24 hours of your visit.

** PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A $25 fee for ARRIVALS BETWEEN 7PM-11PM.

Expected Behaviors:

1. Guests must clean-up after themselves immediately
2. Respect others using the house
3. Quiet hours from 10PM-7AM (be considerate and reduce noise when coming in late)
4. Have as much fun in DC as possible!

Terms & Conditions
Payment in full is due upon arrival. We do not accept personal checks. A valid credit card is required for reservations. The best way to reach us with questions is via email at dcmethod@gmail.com. We are also available at +1240.582.7584 OR +1202-446-6701. All guests must show a government issued photo ID upon check-in. Check-in is by appointment only on the arrival date, and check-out is at 10:00 AM on the departure date. Guests should call or email 24 hours prior to the arrival date to confirm the arrival time. Effective for bookings made after January 14, 2009, arrivals between 7PM-11PM will require an additional $25 fee. No-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to arrival will be charged one night’s stay. If the guest does not cancel the reservation or arrive the first night of the reservation, the remainder of the reservation will be canceled. Guests should make stay extension requests at least 24 hours before scheduled departure. Stay extension requests may require the guest/s to switch beds and/or rooms. Accommodations are available only to travelers from outside a 45 mile radius of Washington, DC. We do not accommodate walk up guests. We make no refunds however, we do understand that extenuating circumstances can occur. Should this happen, a gift certificate (good for one year) will be issued.
