Our self contained studio unit/ flashpackers (built 2007) is located 3 minutes from Takaka & beach. 1 Queen size or 2 single beds - all linen, bedding & towels provided. Private ensuite bathroom & kitchenette makes this a motel hideaway just for the 2 of you.
Located in a new rural subdivision. Free Bikes. Fly directly from Wellington or buses arrive twice daily from Nelson/Nelson Airport. Buses also arrive/depart daily (in Summer) to/from Abel Tasman National Park's Totaranui & Wainui Bay's, Heaphy Track (Kahurangi National Park) + Picton & Christchurch.

Track transport, relocations, rental car & sleepervan Hire. Massage Therapy (New York licensed) & Ortho-Bionomy (NZ certified) available here. Collect map & directions from Golden Bay isite visitor centre, 1 Willow St, Takaka (opposite Fresh Choice), prior to 5pm.

Our rates are NZ$33 per person per night share queen or twin. You will be required to pay the remaining balance of $60 in cash upon arrival.

Directions

Arriving in Takaka from Motueka & Nelson on SH60, stop at the i-SITE information centre (opposite the Fresh Choice supermarket) & collect a local map. Continue straight ahead (north) to the bottom end of Commercial Street, where you will be facing the High School, turn right into Meihana St, then immediately left into Rototai Rd. Turn right into Arapeta Place & finally left into Toiora Close. Golden Bay Retreat is number 5A (less than 5 minutes drive from Takaka).
To get to Takaka drive 2 hours North/West of Nelson on State Highway 60 (via Motueka). Please email or phone the day before arrival to confirm your check in time (prior to 5pm).
