Ponsonby Backpackers is perfectly located in one of the most historical, funky and central areas of Auckland. Just 50 metres walk to bars, cafes, restaurants and convenience shops and a short 20 min stroll to sky tower and viaduct basin etc. OR hop on the link bus right outside our door ($1.60) and ride in comfort to most of Auckland's major attractions in the central city area.

In a 19th century villa, we invite our fellow travellers to relax in our tv lounge (Sky TV), surf our fast internet (desktop & WiFi) or have a BBQ in our sunny outdoor area.

We appreciate the importance of clean facilities therefore we will be cleaning non-stop making sure everything is spotless.


Our facilities include 4 bathrooms with hot showers 24 hours a day, lounge room, dining room, laundry and free use kitchen .

Directions

From the airport: call us for advice on cheaper transport or take the airbus to the city centre ($15), then take the link bus ($1.60) to corner of Franklin and Ponsonby rd .

if you are already in the city a 1.5km walk to Franklin rd

By car travelling north: 2 minutes off the southern motorway, take the Nelson st exit .

By car travelling south: 2 minutes off the northern motorway , take the Herne Bay/Ponsonby exit
