Seahorse Accommodations welcome visitors in a seafront villa fantastically located on the sunny West Coast of Mauritius, the Black River district of the island. The property is 15 minutes on foot North off the small town of Flic en Flac, in a peaceful residential zone. Originally a fishermen settlement, Flic en Flac is now a growing town with a magnificent white sand public beach and a still well preserved lagoon.

The exceptional climate of Flic en Flic as well as its long sandy coast has attracted great hospitality names such as Hilton Hotels & Resorts, the Taj and Sofitel. To be in line with this top-of-the-range tourism development, Flic en Flac now offers world class restaurants (with Chinese, Thai, Italian, French and local traditional cuisine) bars and discos, duty free garment boutiques, supermarkets, cyber cafés, a casino, car, bike and boat rental agencies, a modern post office and a tourist office.
Facilities are available for a broad range of activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling, horse riding, quad riding, parasailing, water skiing, deep sea fishing, kite surfing, dolphin watching, etc.


The villa offers 4 double bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms on share basis or 2 independent duplex apartments of 3 bedrooms each. The living rooms and master bedrooms have bird's eye views onto the Indian Ocean. The villa has direct access to the coast, only distant by 50 metres. This portion of the West coast is a paradise for nature lovers and snorkellers. Its rocky shores and open seas are a refuge for a rich variety of flora and fauna. Wild apes, partridges and hares are often spotted on land, while sea turtles, dolphins and rays are common underwater encounters.

ACCOMMODATION FEATURES

- The 150 m2 duplex apartments each comprises 1 air-conditioned master bedroom with a balcony facing the sea, 1 double bedroom, 1 single bedroom (both with standing fans) and a bathroom on the upper level. A living room with a balcony facing the sea, a kitchen, and an outside W.C. on the first level.
- Each apartment can accommodate 3 couples and even 2 families with children as additional beds can be installed.
- The bathrooms have a shower corner where hot water from a solar heater is available 24/7.
- The apartments are equipped with the following domestic appliances: washing machine, refrigerator, gas cooker with electric oven, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and ironing board.
- Entertainment equipment: cable TV and DVD player.
- Shared backyard, garden and swimming pool.
- 24/7 Internet access.
- Secured parking spaces.
- Spectacular sunsets are guaranteed as the apartments face the West.
- Security: the host lives permanently in the villa. Police randomly patrols the residential area night and day. All openings secured with anti-theft bars.

WHAT TO DO IN THE SURROUNDINGS

• Sunbathing on a tiny, easily accessible coral beach just 100 metres from the apartment (a must see !)
• Excursion to the Green Cascade, a waterfall into the sea, home to a colony of wild apes (45 minutes on foot North off the property)
• Snorkelling (for experienced snorkelers and good swimmers only)
• Fishing
• The residential area is surrounded by sugar cane plantations which tracks are good terrain for footing, trekking, walking and mountain biking.
• Visiting the Casela Nature Park (1000 bird species, ostriches, lions, etc.)

- The property can be viewed on Google Earth, GPS devices, iPhone, etc. (Coordinates: 20º18'03.77'' South, 57º22'30.09'' East of Greenwich).
- Turn right just after the TOTAL gas station which is at the entrance of the village of Flic en Flac.
• Average temperatures in the area from June to September:
- Air: 24ºC (day) 20ºC (night)
- Sea at surface: 21ºC
• Average temperatures from October to May:
- Air: 32ºC (day) 27ºC (night)
- Sea at surface: 28ºC
- There is a direct bus service from Flic en Flac to the capital city, Port Louis, and other major cities.
- The distance between the closest bus stop and the property is 15 minutes on foot. Therefore, guests with disabilities and guests who intend to move around frequently should consider hiring a vehicle.
- There is a taxi stand in Flic en Flac.
- There is no direct bus service from and to the airport. The usual taxi fare from the airport to Flic en Flac and vice versa (an hour ride) is approximately EUR 37.00 one way.
