Decumani Hotel de Charme is the First Cultural Hotel of Naples. It means that our permanent guest is the cultural event.

We will be glad to have you as our guest in the hotel placed in the heart of the Decumans -Historic centre of Naples-, just close to the majolica Cloister of Santa Chiara Cloister, San Severo Chapel with its wonderful “Veiled Christ sculpture” and Spaccanapoli street.

The building where the hotel is placed is a XVIII century’s palace and used to be the residence of Cardinal Sisto Riario Sforza, the last Bishop of the Bourbon Kingdom of Naples who lived in that apartment for more than 30 years, from 1845 to 1877. Since he became Naples bishop, he was the the last bishop of the “Two Sicilies Kingdom” and the first one in Italian Kingdom.


Because of its historical relevance, the palace is under Neapolitan cultural assets administration.

From its glorious past, today the building still keeps intact some beautiful structural elements, such as the wood gate, large stairs, high ceilings with rafters or groin vaults and big wood windows.

In honour of this great personality we restaured his apartment, thinking about all the requirements of a charming and comfortable hotel.

In the common areas of the hotel you can find typical Neapolitan tiled floors with ancient pieces of hand-painted “maiolica”.
The masterpiece of the structure is the wonderful XVIII century hall in a luxurious baroque-style with ancient mirrors and golden stuccos, the best place to relax listening to classic music, having a tea or reading a book.

The hall is suitable even for meetings and national or international cultural events.

Moreover, in some rooms there are high ceilings with wood hand-painted rafters, groin vaults or coffer ceilings and precious period pieces of furniture.

In the city centre of Naples - named by UNESCO “the biggest open-air museum in the world- our hotel is recommended for leisure and business tourists as it’s easy to reach the railway station, the highway, the business centre of Naples and the civil service seats.

Our guests will be glad to have a stay right in the heart of the ancient city centre, that once used to be Greek and then Roman, where they will have a full immersion in history, art, typical food, traditions and narrow Neapolitan streets.

Santa Chiara cloister, Gesù Nuovo church, San Severo Chapel with its wonderful “Veiled Christ sculpture”, Spaccanapoli and San Gregorio Armeno street with the famous “Presepe.....Christ's nativity” workshops, Underground Naples (deep galleries under the city), S. Domenico Maggiore Church, the Duomo, Archaeological Nacional Museum, Madre Museum of Contemporary art.. are just few of the attractions you can easily reach by foot in less than 10 minutes from our hotel.

Moreover, the area is full of famous restaurants, traditional “pizzeria”, bars, literary cafes and clubs, live music pubs and several handicrafts shops.

Right in a few minutes walk from the hotel you can even reach one of the main streets in Naples for shopping: Corso Umberto, where our guests can find lots of different kinds of shops.

In maximum 15 minutes walk, our guests can reach Maschio Angioino Castle, Plebiscito Square with the Royal Palace, the beautiful Umberto I Gallery and the main Opera Royal Theater “San Carlo”.

Capri, Ischia and Procida Islands, Amalfi Coast and Sicily are reachable from Naples harbours, “Molo Beverello” and “Molo Porta di Massa” that are just 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
