Laguna Verde Guest House

Laguna Verde Guest House, is located at Apaneca or Cuyanausul Range. This is an amazing volcanic mountain range which stretches througout western El Salvador between the Santa Ana complex and the Guatemala border. We are situated just 3 km.from Apaneca.

Halfway along the Ruta de las Flores, Laguna Verde Guesthouse is the perfect base from which to explore the famous route in one, two, three days or more. The amazing location of the guesthouse, on the rim of a volcano and near a breathtaking crater lake, make your stay an attraction in itself. The 4 private rooms in a Swiss chalet-style house and the 2 dormitory rooms in a dome-style bungalow are surrounded by amazing views over mountains, coffee plantations and local villages. A stay here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As you might expect, this beauty comes at a price, and the location is somewhat remote so don´t forget to bring your own food and drinks and enough money to last you during your stay here.

The dome has a common area, guest kitchen, television and bathroom.

The Swiss chalet has a guest kitchen, a bathroom, a balcony and a television.

There is an outdoor eating area, hammocks, which are shared by both the chalet and the dome.

Our staff strives to make you feel at home and give tourist information on subjects from bus routes, and interesting places to visit around the area. We produce our own coffee and honey and you are also invited to observe the process.

The nearest supermarket and ATM are in Juayúa - 12 Km from the hostel. Convenience stores can be found in Apaneca.

Directions

Take bus 249 at either Sonsonate ($0.85) or Ahuachapan terminal to Apaneca. Get off at the dirt road to Laguna Verde. Follow the road up (3km, 45 minute hike.
Pack light!!!) or ask any passing pick-up truck to give you a lift. When you get to a tiny village and pass a blue and white painted school on your right, you should see the hostel´s dirt road just a few metres further on your left. Walk 50 metres until you find the hostel´s wooden fence on your right. On Saturday and Sunday bus services will take you there for $0.60.
