Directions
Located just 5 minutes walking distance from the town square of Cesky Krumlov, right above the Plesivec Stairs, secluded within the island of the old Plesivec Square. Main bus terminal is located 10 minutes walk from Dilettante's Hangout, whilst train station is half an hour walk away. Taxis are readily available at appx 100 CZK from the bus station and 200 czk from the train station.

Train ride is picturesque, even though it takes longer in some cases up to 5 hours, as you may have to change trains depending on the route you take, some people love travelling by train... gives them a sense of slow travel and you do see a good chunk of the countryside... although I am not fond of the Prague Main Station. The city has begun restoration works at the Hlavni Nadrazi station, which will finalize in a distant future.
I prefer travelling by bus, it takes appx 3 hours, depending on which company you use.
Student Agency is amongst the cheapest and the best, offering you a movie to watch, hot drinks are included, as is the daily press to read, there is WIFI connection on board included in the price, earphones are available to those who want to listen to the music and the stewardess is on board. You can buy drinks and snacks too.
You can buy your tickets online or at the infocentres in Prague or main station, as the buses get sold out very fast, I would not advise you to arrive to the bus and take a chance on finding of a seat.
They travel from NA KNIZECI bus stop in Prague and deliver you to the main bus station in Krumlov which is 10 minute walk from Dilettante's Hangout, although you can get off at Spicak, and walk through the old town if you prefer. The walk will take you appx 20 minutes.
The bus stops twice in Krumlov, first stop is Spicak, you can get off there is you'd like, as the other way to the town centre and to the Hangout is dug up.
The town hall is restoring the gas pipes and replacing the asphalt with cobbles on Horni ulice, which inconveniences everyone travelling to Krumlov by bus at present. Works should end in December.
;)
So, should you want to get off at Spicak, do so, there are several ways to get to Dilettante's Hangout, two of the fastest ones and easiest ones I will point out.
First one is walking up on the bridge which will be above you and entering the old town through the medieval gates.
On your right will be bakery/cafe Deli 99, on your left will be Hostel 99.
Keep walking, you will byspass the post office on your left, Hotel U mesta Vidne on your left... follow the road, it will curl right and then left. You will bypass the castle entrance on your right. Continue hingead straight ahead, you will bypass shops, cafes and restaurants ... Zapa Cafe on your left..., road will curl left towards the Lazebnicky bridge, with Lazebna restaurant on your right, continue walking, cross the bridge, keep walking straight ahead, after the bridge on your right is Hotel Dvorak, keep walking straight until you will reach the town square. Once on the town square, on your right will be Hotel Old Inn, turn right there, opposite is Hotel Zlaty Andel. Road curls left, next to Disco/Music Bar, on your right will be Expeditions office, turn left once more and head straight towards Kohinoor art supply shop, with Don Julius restaurant on your left and Botanicus soap shop on your right. Turn right at the end of the road and head towards the bridge of Edward Benes. On your left will be a mobile phone shop and a tobacconist. Cross the bridge. Head straight ahead. On the corner of the Chinese restaurant and U bejka pub there are stairs with 80 steps upwards. Walk upstairs. Dilettante's Hangout is located on the second road on your right, it's the third house on the left, two numbers up from Pension Svaty Hubertus.
If you are not fond of stairs, you may turn left by the Chinese restaurant and head straight ahead, you will byspass a Vietnamese convenience store, follow the road, take first right and keep walking, bypassing Pension Merlin, until you will see the Pension Svaty Hubertus, walk straight ahead, Dilettante's Hangout is located two numbers up on your left.
The other way involves walking by the river.
Cross the main road by the bridge, and head to your right, away from the bridge, towards the little yellow bakery stall. Keep walking straight ahead, until you will reach the parking lot, turn left, walk into the parking lot, cross it, at the end of it, you will cross a wooden bridge across a stream Polecnice. In front of you you will see the castle and the arched stone bridge. Walk straight ahead, you will come to the river.
*Turn left, if you want to walk through the town, in which case, just walk across the other wooden bridge and across Vltava River, walk straight ahead, you will see Mlyn/Mill Restaurant with a big mill wheel turning, on your right, cross another small wooden bridge, keep waling ahead, you will bypass Egon Schiele Art Centre on your right, keep walking ahead, you will come to Na Louzi square, walk straight ahead, with Don Julius Restaurant on the left and Botanicus shop on your right, in front of you you will see Kohinoor art supply shop. Follow the directions as before.
*If you don't want to walk through the town, at the river, turn right and follow the river path straight ahead. You will bypass several river restaurants, U Matesa on your right, Hostel Postel on your right, Hostel Ryba, on your left, keep walking straight until you will reach the main road, here on your right you will see the Gorila Pub, U bejka Restaurant/pub, Chinese restaurant and the stairs in between. Follow the directions as before.
Should you prefer going to the main station, after Spicak stop, the bus will head for the main bus station in Krumlov.
Getting off at the main bus station, the bus will drop you off on the edge of the station, continue walking same direction as the bus is facing when it drops you off. You will come to the end of the open air station, which will curl towards right side, for buses to turn and on your left will be a little hill with a tree-lined asphalted small path. Take it. Continue walking uphill, you will come to a residential zone, with a view of the castle and the old town on the right. Walk downhill, not changing direction, you will come to a main road and a traffic light, Cross the road. On your right is a bowling alley/restaurant and a parking lot, on the other side of the road you should see TIP JEDNOTA COOP supermarket, stay on the side of the bowling alley and parking lot, keep walking straight ahead, a few steps further on your right you will bypass Mestske Divadlo - Theatre, big white building with turquoise colored windows and doors and a theatre cafe Antre. Ahead of you will be a small bridge. Cross it, on your left will be Hotel Ruze, on your right will be a myriad of little shops, restaurants and cafes. Walk straight ahead. When you reach the end of the road, you are on the town square. You can either walk through it, cross it and head towards Old Inn hotel, on its corner, left hand side of the town square, from your point of arrival to it, walk downhill, turn left, you will reach a small Na louzi square, turn left again and walk another few metres until you will see KOHINOOR art shop ahead. Turn right, walk across the bridge of Eduard Benes, on your left is a Linecka Primary School building, on your right is a small riverside cafe, straight ahead is a Chinese restaurant and Drogeria Teta shop. Head straight. On your left will
