WHAT & WHERE

You’ll find your Copacabana Apartment right behind the beach and boulevard of Rodadero, Santa Marta. It´s the third building from the beach! The small stylish 4 story building with palm trees in the garden, hosts spacious 6 person 2 bedroom apartments with a big balcony on the front side. Receptionists around the clock contribute to a save and friendly atmosphere. You’ll find great amounts of restaurants, terraces, dive shops, tour operators, internet cafes, bars, discos and beach parties round the corner.


NOTE: Not all apartments are available in the booking system, but all can be booked. Just Google Apartment Copacabana Rodadero, and ask for more apartments, information, last minutes, special offers etc.

NOTE: The booking system gives prices per person. Aapartments however have flat rates. This means that you always pay as if you were with 6.


ABOUT RODADERO, SANTA MARTA

Rodadero is a part of Santa Marta. located in the next bay. If you like Santa Marta, you’ll love Rodadero. The sea is cleaner, the beach bigger and lined with more palm trees. The streets of Rodadero are sprinkled with seafood restaurants, terraces, bars, shops, internet cafes etc. Rodadero is probably the best place on Colombia’s Caribbean cost to take diving courses and arrange tours, trips and treks. Those who live in Santa Marta go to Rodadero for its sprawling night life and spontaneous beach parties.

ABOUT THE SANTA MARTA REGION

The Santa Marta region is definitely one of the most diverse regions on earth. Santa Marta, the oldest colonial city in South America, is surrounded by kilometres of the finest Caribbean beaches (partly pristine), mountain peaks up to 5.775 mtrs, tropical forests, deserts, Indian ruins and tribal life.


THE WEATHER

Santa Marta has a tropical sea climate, with daytime temperatures hovering around 28°C / 82°F. Every day of the year ! Besides that, Santa Marta doesn’t suffer from heavy storms because its location outside the infamous Hurricane Belt. You might call it ideal weather, can’t complain about that :)


LOW, MID AND HIGH SEASON

Rodadero is easy going and pretty economical throughout the year, with a few exceptions. You should know that the main Colombian vacation period runs from roughly half December till the end of January. In this period apartment prices can rise significantly. The same with Easter. The period from the end of June till the end of August is mid-season; the prices are somewhat higher then.

HOW TO GET THERE

Rodadero is reachable by taxi and local bus from Santa Marta Airport (20 minutes). Ask the taxi driver for the list with fixed prices (planilla). Airport Santa Marta - Rodadero will cost some 14.000 pesos (8 euro). If you take the local bus from the airport to Santa Marta (1.000 pesos), ask the driver to drop you off at ´Tele Santa Marta´ in Rodadero. Walk down the short street (100 mtrs), turn right (now you’re on Avenida 4), second left: that’s Calle 6, our street. It’s a 5 - 10 minute walk. Coming from the bus terminal of Santa Marta, take a taxi to Rodadero (6.000 pesos, some 2 euro). Doing so you avoid taking 2 busses, or making a big D-tour through industrial areas with another bus that ends up 10 blocks from the Copacabana Apartment building.

Santa Marta has its own airport, but the airport of Barranquilla (75 km) can be used as well. The airport of Cartagena (180 km) could also be considered for flying in. All three have good connections with the airport of Bogota. Coming from Barranquilla and Cartagena, you can travel to Santa Marta and Rodadero with frequent inter city busses between the bus terminals of the cities, and door to door shuttle services which leave from the airports (ask for ´Van Express´).
