Active Adventure
Wine Country Trekking offers unique vacations for the discerning, active traveler. Our San Francisco to the Wine Country Trek, named by National Geographic Traveler as one of the 50 "Tours of a Lifetime", brings together fabulous hiking, lodging, food and wine, allowing you to "Experience Luxury on Foot". It starts in beautiful San Francisco, and takes you across the Golden Gate Bridge, to Sausalito, Muir Woods National Monument, Point Reyes National Seashore, pristine Tomales Bay, Jack London State Historic Park, ending in beautiful Sonoma Valley where you will visit superb private winery estates.

Typical Day
This trek includes 6 days of hiking from 6 to 12 miles (10 to 19 km), a day of kayaking on Tomales Bay with a naturalist guide, and a day of walking between private winery estates for wine tastings. The maximum elevation gain is 2300 feet (700m).
Age range, type of group
All of our treks are self guided, meaning that you travel with your own family or friends, not with a tour of strangers. We provide you with a complete itinerary, including custom maps and detailed trail notes, and make all of your meal and lodging arrangements. You have the confidence of knowing that everything is taken care of and the freedom to manage your own time. Any size group is welcome; from 2 to 8 is most common.
Sleeping and meals
Lodging on your trek ranges from luxury boutique hotels in the cities to charming country inns with all the amenities one would expect of premier lodging. All of the lodging is among the best the area has to offer and fitting for a first class trekking experience. The rooms chosen are always the most luxurious offered, often suites with outdoor patios or decks.
