Surrounding Area

Duas quintas lies just outside a small village, 6 kilometers from the medieval town of Silves. The background of low rolling hills and the surrounding orange farms provide a sense of peace and tranquility. Yet within fifteen minutes you can drive to wonderful beaches or the lively city of Portimâo. Because of its central position, Duas Quintas is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Algarve. There are two large waterparks nearby, a small zoo and an ocean theme park. Silves has excellent restaurants as well as a famous castle and two museums.

Accommodations

A beautiful old farmhouse that was professionally renovated in 2006, maintaining many of the original features but with lots of new features to give you the quality and comfort you want on holidays. The house is in its own grounds -15 acres of gardens and orange trees. It is a nature lovers delight with birds, buterflies,wild flowers and trees. There is lots of parking space and plenty of room for families to wander and play.The large swimming pool, table tennis table and boules court help you to stay active, but you may prefer to sip a cool beer from our honesty bar as you lie in the sun under the orange trees.

Rooms/Suites

There are five guest bedrooms and a studio, all with twin or double beds. All are ensuite.The high wooden ceilings and original stone walls make each room special, and they have all been decorated in a different way. Sofas or easy chairs add extra omfort. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, satelite t.v. and room fan. Air conditioning is also available. Most rooms have Wifi access. Each room has its own private entrance, patio doors and a small terraced area with garden furniture. The studio also has a fully fitted kitchen area with washing machine and a small living area.

Directions

Directions from Faro Airport

On leaving Faro airport, bear right at the roundabout following the signs to Faro and then to the A22 (or IP1) motorway, the main east-west highway which links the Algarve to Spain.

After 3 kilometres, follow the signs to the motorway to Lisbon (Lisboa), Portimão and Loulé. This takes you on to the main N125 heading north, away from Faro
After a further 4.5 kilometres get into the left-hand lane in order to bear left, continuing to follow the signs to Loule and the A22/IP1.
After a further 3.5 kilometres, join the A22 motorway direction Lisbon, Portimão and Albufeira.

Continue on the motorway until you see the turn for Silves. Follow this road for about five kilometres. You will descend towards the town with the town on your left. Turn left at the bottom of the hill over the bridge. Get in the right-hand lane at the traffic lights. Turn right in the direction of Messines, passing Lidol on your left. Continue straight through the next roundabout and over a narrow bridge. About five kilometres outside Silves you will see a left hand turn marked Pedreira. Ignore this but take the very next left turn, marked Quinta do Rio - a smaller blue and white sign. This can be a dangerous turn as you only have a short time to see cars coming in the other direction. Signal well before you reach this turn! Continue down this road, passing a small garage (Oficina) on your left until you reach a T junction (about 950 meters). Don't worry that the road seems to go to a single track for a short distance -unless someone is coming the other way!!!! The house is straight in front of you as you reach the T junction.
