Yellow Stripe Hostel

Yellow Stripe Hostel is a newly renovated hostel located in the “wonderful city” of Buzios. Surrounded by more than 20 beaches Buzios is located 180km NE of Rio de Janeiro.

It is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts or for those who love to just sit back and relax in the sun. Yellow Stripe Hostel is ideally situated on a quiet street near the downtown core where you will find all of the best shops, restaurants, bars and clubs. Our location also provides a perfect spot for exploring the town as we are situated just off the main road that goes through the peninsula leading to all of it's magnificant beaches.

The hostel itself has all the charm, personal touches and amenities that one would want in a home away from home. We boast a large comfy common area where people can socialize or watch TV or one of our more than 300 plus movies. We also offer free internet access and wi-fi for those with their own laptops and we have a Nintendo wii for those who really miss home.


In our kitchen you will find all the utensils that you need to cook up a gormet meal. We have also included a free communal collection of cooking essentials like oil, spices and other condiments to make your stay easier and to help you save money. Outside you will find our garden with a BBQ area, pool, and large deck where we host weekly BBQ parties, Brazilian style.

Yellow Stripe Hostel offers a variety of room options to meet your needs and budget. We have everything from air conditioned double rooms to a 9-bed mixed dormitory. In total we have seven rooms to choose from and every room contains an ensuite bathroom. In our dorm rooms each guest will find a large storage locker where they can safely store their belongings.

*Important: The TRIPLE ROOM has a matrimonial bed plus a bunk bed so it can be booked as a double room or a 4-bed dorm. Just email us about the availability. The price listed is for a triple room.

We would like to tell our guests that security is of the utmost importance to us. Buzios is a very safe town but to offer our guests peace of mind we have installed a 24-hour video-surveillance and security system.

Notes: - There is a minimum booking of five nights during both Carnival and New Year and four nights during Easter.- All guests receive a complimentary drink upon check in.

Directions

Several buses leave from Rio to Buzios each day.  The buses depart from the Novo Rio Bus Terminal in Rio de Janeiro.  From Sao Paulo it leaves once a week on friday nights. For fares and schedules you can contact the bus company Viacao 1001 or the bus terminal. The drive to Buzios from Rio takes about three hours.   As you come into the main part of Buzios you will pass the tourist information centre. Just past this there are many flags of various nationalities flying on both sides of the street. Shortly after the flags you will see an Esso gas station on the left. From here you have about ten minutes more to go. Along the way you will pass a BR (Petrobras) gas station on your right and then you will come to a big intersection and there will be another BR station on the right side again. From here it is only another Kilometre or so. Just ask the Driver to stop at Praia Tartaruga. From there you keep walking forward along the main road for about 30-50 meters and you will find Rua da Mandragora on your right. That is our street and we are located in the back of the square in a green house, number 13. If you go past our street, 200 meters later you will see an ESSO station on your left and you will end up at the final bus stop about 500 meters down the main road from our street. From here you can either walk back to the hostel or take a taxi. If you walk back you will pass a go-cart race track on you left side.  Shortly after, you will pass the ESSO gas station on your right now.  Stay on the main road (the road the bus came on) and once you have passed the intersection with the ESSO station, Rua da Mandragora will be the 4th street on your left.  It is about a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal to the hostel.
