From long past Mechelen was known as the capital of the Burgundian Netherlands, it’s fame dating from the 16th century, the reigning period of Margaret of Austria. Mechelen’s fame is also due to the different carillons in St.Rombout’s Tower. The Tourist Office offers the opportunity to get know Mechelen by organizing guided tours through the city and its surroundings.

A non-members supplement of €3 per person per night will be charged on arrival for those guests not in possession of a valid IYHF/ Hostelling International membership card

From the station, walk to the ring road and turn right onto the 'Zandpoortvest'.
The hostel is just next to the 'Hogeschool' and the public parking Zandpoortvest 2.
