James Street Inn is built on the foundation of a c. 1858 stone flour mill. The site is steeped in history dating all the way back to 1671 when Father Jean Claude Allouez built the first permanent mission here.
The original foundation and much of the first floor, remnants of the old mill, provide the heart of the new Inn and serve as reminders of the past. Water runs right under the building providing river views for nearly all of the suites, four on the lower level even have decks right over the water!
All rooms and suites are decorated in shaker and traditional styles with furnishings by Thomasville. All suites have separate living rooms and bedrooms with a tasteful archway dividing the rooms. Homestyle baths, extra large closets, work areas with data port phones for laptop modem, or personal fax machine use compliment every room & suite.
Whether traveling for business or pleasure, the James Street Inn will provide you with quiet, comfortable, unique surroundings.
