Ruta 40 Hostel is just situated half block on the square, the most secure neightbourhood with everything very close to enjoy Cafayate, all the info to help you do the best in your stay or to plan next steps in your trip.

We'll work to make you really feel on holidays.

The house and staff will make you feel as local and help you to spend the best days of your trip, in or outside the house, and also when you leave the house in your trip through Norte region and Argentine.

Every third day we cook a BBQ with everyone into the house to share our culture, have the oportunity to know the argentinian famous wines and feels like a family.


After, you'll find that all days in Cafayate can be enjoyed with friends, and feel part of the family.

The common areas allows you to chill out after a long day or before the pubs visit.

This particular house can be adapted to every kind of travelers and groups.

We suggest 2 or 3 days in Cafayate, because Cafayate and Calchaqui Valley have many atractive, for example: the best winery in Argentine, Quebrada de las Conchas (cañon), Rio Colorado (waterful),Indian Ruins (Quilmes)and other.

We can arrange for you to explore the surrounding paradise and experience the culture of its people. There are a variety of activities to meet your needs and desires.

Directions

Arrival by Plane:

From Salta`s Airport or San Miguel de Tucuman`s Airport,
There are car rentals, taxis, shared taxis and buses to Cafayate.

Arrival by Bus:

From Salta; El Indio Bus Company has 3 buses a day to Cafayate. 180km, approx. 3 hours.

From Tucumán; Aconquija Bus Company has 3 buses a day to Cafayate.220Km.

Arrival by Car:

From Salta – Take Nacional Ruta 68 to Cafayate. 100% paved road.
3 hours approx.

From Tucuman – Take the road to Tafi de Valle and continue on to Cafayate. 100% paved road, 220km, 4-5 hours approx.

From Cachi – Take National Ruta 40. Unpaved road. 5 hours approx.

From Ruta 40 South (Belen, Catamarca) – 80% unpaved road, 6 hours approx.
