Happy Hippo International Backpackers Lodge

The Happy Hippo is a brand new lodge opened by Micky and Michelle (owners of the Hippo Hide). It is the closest hostel to Durban's golden mile and beautiful blue flag beaches.

The Happy Hippo could not be situated any better for seeing durban's greatest attractions, with the beaches approx 600mts away and Ushaka marine world 300mts away, buses and taxis on the door step and the centre of town is within walking distance sightseeing could not be easier!

FROM N3: FOLLOW BEACH SIGNS, THIS BECOMES ALICE STREET / OLD FORT ROAD, THEN TURN RIGHT INTO BRICKHILL ROAD WHICH BECOMES MAHATMA GHANDI WE ARE AT NO 222
FROM NORTHERN FREEWAY M4: LEFT INTO ARGYLE , RIGHT INTO BRICKHILL THIS BECOMES MAHATMA GHANDI, FOLLOW USHAKA MARINE WORLD SIGNS ALL THE WAY TO 222.
