B&b Ripa Medici

The apartment is located in the medieval part of the historical center of Orvieto,100 meters from Piazza della Repubblica. Facing the ancient walls, it offers a suggestive view of the surrounding countryside with its vineyards and olive trees.

The entrance is situated in one of the typical narrow, quiet alleyways characterizing the old medieval section of the town, not far from an ancient nunnery.

The two bedrooms iclude private bathrooms, showers,hairdryers,air conditioning,TV. All the rooms, included the bathroom, are parqueted with olive wood and furnished with fine antique furnitures.

The Cathedral and the main street are within easy reach (3 minute walking). All the restaurants and ‘trattorie’ typical of the old city center are also within walking distance.


Car parking (included in the price) is available in the covered parking area at the foot of the hill. From there the elevator will take you to the city center in 20 seconds.
On request there is washing machine and dryer available(cost 5 euros a cycle)

Orvieto is a town in the green and picturesque region of Umbria. It lies 97 km from Rome and 150 from Florence and enjoys a strategic position at the crossroad between Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany. Built on top of a steep-sided outcrop of volcanic rock, in antiquity Orvieto was a flourishing Etruscan hill town. Important remains of Etruscan arts may be found all over the place.
The old, middle-age section of the town still retains its medieval atmosphere in the network of narrow, meandering alleyways, the many old houses, gothic churches and medieval towers and walls which have been preserved intact in it.
Orvieto cathedral is one of the major achievements of gothic architecture in Italy. Its façade and interior with the masterpieces by Orcagna, Maitani, Beato Angelico, Signorelli and other outstanding Italian painters and sculptors represent an example of the artistic treasures of Italy.

Directions

By car:

Take highway A1 Firenze-Rome exit Orvieto or from Perugia you have to take the highway Perugia-Todi and later S.S448 Todi-Orvieto.
From the motorway drive uphill towards the town centre. At the bend turn on the right hand side and drive to the town. Nearby you can find the indoor city car park, leave you car and take the lift, turn right and walk for 30 meters and turn left in the lane.


By train:

Once in Orvieto you have to take the cableway in Station Square, It will bring you in town.There you have to take the minibus(B), you have to get off in “Piazza Ranieri”. There you will find the street Ripa Medici, we are in number 14.
