Conveniently located in the pollution free enivroment in Buddhist heritage sector of Sarnath. Only a 30 minute drive to the Ganges river and main ghat.

Sarnath is the place Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after attaining enlightenment in Bodh gaya.
Only a ten minute walk away is the national musuem, all major Buddhist monastries, the 64 ft high Dhamek stupa, archological ruins, deer park (Mrigdav), Jain temples and other monuments.

From the hotel you can easily plan your travels around the rest of India as the train station and airport are well connected to everywhere else in India. The hotel also has an authentic Mediterranean restaurant runed by Tahsin from Jordan (of Haifa hotel fame) which opens out to the large gardens and fountain. Our Mediterranean combo comprising of falfals, hummous, babaghanoj, pita and tahina sauce are a hit which hits the spot. Also the different kinds of lafah rolls are the best thing for a cheap, filling quick bite.
The tradional wood oven and grill are also outdoors so you can watch your pizzas and kababs being cooked.

So with so much happening here, why stay in the crowded, broker infested areas of Varanasi downtown... sheesh!

Directions

The closest airport is Babatpur airport also known as the Varanasi airport. Its 24 kms from the hotel. There are only taxis available to come to the city. Theres also a prepaid taxi stand for tourists, set up by the govt. so the regular taxis won't fleece them. The Golden Buddha has an airport pickup service for a nominal fixed charge.

The other best and cheaper mode to come to Sarnath/Varanasi is the main railway stn called Varanasi Cantt. Trains from major cities throughout India come here. The distance is appx 8 kms from the hotel.

Taxis are available as well as cheaper and faster means are autorickshaw. Very cheap, local buses are available too, but will take a long time as they stop, drop and pickup anyone from anywhere. The hotel can pick up guests from here too.

There is an intercity bus terminal near the train stn. but its not common to use buses as a mode of transport. Its just uncomfortable.
