The casa is a Colonial house built by Colombian emigrants in 1830 and has preserved its antique furniture. The house is situated in the center of Trinidad close to all of the sights so you have no need of a car to get around.
The casa rents out two rooms. One two lovely iron beds (a double and the other a single). The other has a double bed. Both have air-conditioning and additional fans. The bedrooms open up to a lovely interior patio decorated with plants. You will quickly realize how lovely it is to rest and to have breakfast or dinner on the patio. The colonial house has preserved much of its historical features: wood ceilings and old style clay tiles that cover the roof reducing the summer heat. You will enjoy the private bath with hot and cold water 24/7.

The house still has lots of 1950 furniture taking you back to Hemingway's days. Drinks therefore can not be absent and beverages like mojitos, beers and other cocktails are available.
The family used to own restaurants and guest houses in the 1950's and has kept the family tradition of offering great food. The reference in the Lonely Planet guide to both the casa of Bernardo and Sarahí and that of Araceli Reboso (the owners mother) a says a lot about what this family in Trinidad thinks about hospitality.

Tips
Know where you are going
I know jineteros go inside buses and cars or meet tourist the bus station or by the street, telling then they are relatives (father, son, etc). They then proceed to tell them either that their reservation at a specific casa particular has been canceled, or that they are taking them to that casa, when in fact they are bringing then to a different casa altogether. If you have and trust your confirmed reservation at a casa particular, make sure you know then exact address and location of then house, and distrust touts who take you elsewhere.
